If there’s any more evidence that Kylian Mbappe should be (or already is) the Paris Saint-Germain captain, the 24-year-old put his leadership on display after the 1-0 first-leg loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes.
Foot Mercato reported (h/t Paris Fans) on Wednesday, citing sources, that Mbappe took on the role of a leader while speaking to his teammates postgame, attempting to likely rally the group and show that the matchup is far from over despite the hole the team finds itself in currently.
The French media outlet noted that Mbappe did not just talk in front of the cameras and then spoke in the locker room, delivering a “boss speech.”
Mbappe decided to take matters into his own hands to try to remobilize the troops with relatively strong words. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner did not keep his tongue in his pocket and spoke without filter to his partners.
While Marquinhos wears the captain’s armband out on the pitch, it’s clear that Mbappe is more than ready to lead as well.
