Kylian Mbappe Can Succeed Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, World Cup Winner Believes

Kylian Mbappe has hit another level in his form in the last few months. Whether it was dragging France to nearly winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup or scoring two braces on back-to-back weeks during Paris Saint-Germain’s “crisis.”

With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s careers nearly reaching their end, one former great player believes Mbappe is ready to take the baton from them. Brazil’s Ronaldo was at the FIFA The Best awards on Monday, where he spoke highly of the 24-year-old.

“I believe we have had a great player with [a] spectacular talent for years,” Ronaldo told Quotidien (h/t Canal Supporters). “Kylian Mbappe is the guarantee that what Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi have done … Mbappe will be next to do it.

“His hug with Mbappe, what words did they exchange? I greeted him. We greeted each other. We talked a bit. He’s a very special boy and every time we see each other, we have a good relationship. It’s just good to see it.”

Mbappe is heading into the second-leg contest against Bayern Munich on March 8 at Allianz Arena in good form and fully fit, which is a contrast to the first matchup.

Suppose the France international and Lionel Messi continue to click as they have been. In that case, PSG’s attack can overcome the 1-0 hole the team finds itself in and advance to the quarterfinals even after the squad went through a crisis after the return of club football.
