Galtier Reveals Who’s Favorite Between PSG-Bayern Munich, Respects Julian Nagelsmann

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier will face his most significant task as a gaffer during the UEFA Champions League first-leg contest against Bayern Munich on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes.

Ahead of the match, Galtier spoke with reporters on Monday, discussing who’s the favorite between PSG and Bayern Munich. However, the French tactician noted that there are no favorites between the two squads.

“It’s 50-50,” Galtier told reporters (h/t Canal Supporters). “It’s a Champions League game. My players are used to these big meetings. There will be no qualifiers at the end of the match. I have a much more complete squad than the previous matches.”

Galtier also shared his respect for Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann as the two managers will look to get the best of each other in the first leg to have an advantage heading into the second leg on March 8.

“He’s a young coach, but he’s getting some experience,” Galtier continued. “It is very modern. Will I beat him tactically? A game is never that. The actors are the players. We got ready. Tomorrow, we will refine, but after, there is the truth of the match and it is on the ground.”

It will be interesting to see if Galtier can galvanize the squad after a difficult week that saw them crash out in the Coupe de France Round of 16 to Olympique de Marseille and then lose to AS Monaco Saturday.

Additionally, Galtier could count on Mbappe, who will be a game-time decision, so he might have his entire squad ready to go for Tuesday. Nonetheless, it will be up to Galtier to put the right tactical plan to ensure PSG gets the win.
