Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has lauded Kylian Mbappe as the “best striker” in world football today.

Mbappe was the star of the show in PSG’s 3-0 Ligue 1 away win over Olympique de Marseille on matchday 25. Mbappe moved into a tie with Edinson Cavani for the most goals scored in PSG history with 200 after logging a pair of goals in the rivalry encounter. The PSG star also chipped in with an assist in the first half of the contest.

Mbappe tagged along with Lionel Messi as PSG’s main center forwards in Galtier’s 3-5-2 formation against Marseille. After watching Mbappe have his way against Marseille on Sunday, Galtier sees that the French forward is “surely” the best in the world at his position.

“He has just equaled a beautiful record, so we have a thought for Edinson (Cavani) who was a great striker for PSG,” Galtier said during his post-match press conference. “We all assume that Kylian will beat this record, and he is surely the best striker in the world.

“He goes fast, and he does everything fast, with a lot of density. And he knows how to be present in the big meetings, that’s also the sign of great players.”

Mbappe now sits at 29 goals in all competitions for PSG this season.

PSG will now turn its attention to a Ligue 1 home fixture against Nantes coming up on matchday 26.
