French Pundit Explains Why PSG Have ‘No Chance’ of Comeback vs. Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain has three Ligue 1 matches to find good form heading into their second-leg contest in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Bayern Munich on March 8 at the Allianz Arena.

The capital club hopes to overturn the 1-0 deficit they face, but Canal Plus pundit Habib Beye believes that any hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals is wishful thinking.

“I would dream of coaching one of the two teams in my life for at least a day; it’s the dream of a lifetime, surely,” Beye said (h/t Paris Fans). “But what is certain is that they have no chance if it is this PSG. Clearly, even Mbappé, at this level, they have no chance.

“Against Bayern, impossible. That is to say that we will have to change almost everything [and] have another philosophy, but this PSG that I have seen and that I have [seen] for a few weeks has no chance, in my opinion, of qualifying. Now, I really hope so, but what I’ve seen isn’t enough. Clearly.”

What PSG might hang their hat on that the squad looked with Kylian Mbappe when the 24-year-old entered the pitch in the second half, where he scored but was ruled offside due to VAR.

Nonetheless, if the capital club fails to advance to the quarterfinals, the criticism already levied against them after last Tuesday’s loss will only be louder. Additionally, remarks over who should stay and who must go will also be on a megaphone.

It’s not a mountain that PSG needs to overcome, but to calm the masses; manager Christophe Galtier must get the starting 11, the tactical plan and the right mentality heading into this clash.
