Ex-Chelsea Boss Thomas Tuchel Reportedly Lays Out Conditions For PSG Return

The news regarding Paris Saint-Germain keeps coming on a Monday as former Chelsea manager and 2021 UEFA Champions League winner Thomas Tuchel could return to the French capital.

The Evening Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella reported on Monday, citing sources, that Tuchel would also need guarantees the capital club would be willing to defend him against player power and ask to be left to concentrate on coaching without too much involvement in transfer market activity.

According to a report, PSG has grown frustrated with current manager Christophe Galtier and could bring Tuchel back for a second stint after they initially sacked the German tactician on Christmas Day 2020.

Furthermore, what could help Tuchel consider a return will be that former sporting director Leonardo isn’t in his position anymore and he’d be working with current sporting advisor Luis Campos.

The English media outlet also reveals that Tuchel is looking for a club competing for titles in any of Europe’s top five leagues, which is why he turned down at least one mid-table Premier League club after Chelsea sacked him in September 2022.

It will be interesting to see if any guarantees and working with Campos will convince Tuchel to return as the 49-year-old took PSG to the 2020 Champions League final, falling to Bayern Munich.
