Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier finds himself in the hot seat as there have been recent reports of who could replace the French tactician. One of the names floated in the rumor mill is Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel spent time as PSG’s boss from 2018 to 2020 after the capital club sacked him on Christmas Day. With a possible return in the cards, Express Sport speculated which Chelsea players could migrate over if Tuchel takes over.
Some names are possible; meanwhile, others might not make sense. Nonetheless, the first name is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who Tuchel has worked with at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. Additionally, the veteran striker would bring competition to Hugo Ekitike.
Hakim Ziyech is next on the list, and if the Blues had submitted the proper paperwork, the winger would be currently playing for PSG. Nonetheless, the loan transfer failed, and he remained at Stamford Bridge, but a Tuchel hiring might see the French giants revisit this target.
With only 18 months left on his contract, Mason Mount could be gearing toward a Chelsea exit and the German tactician could convince the England international to head abroad.
Finally, Mateo Kovacic would be a name Tuchel could want to help reinforce the midfield, which sporting advisor Luis Campos attempted to rebuild this past summer.
Whether it’s these names or others, it will be interesting to see who stays or who goes and if the 2021 Champions League winner returns for a second stint in Paris.
