Joao Cancelo featured for Bayern Munich in the first leg of its UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain last week. Cancelo earned a start in the match as a right wing-back, and he ended up helping Bayern Munich slow down PSG’s Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe attacking trio.
Cancelo has had previous experience in facing PSG, and this time around, he came away with one notable takeaway from his latest duel against the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
“But I think PSG is a very unpredictable team because, on an individual level, if all their players are on a good day, they become a very difficult team to stop,” Cancelo told OJogo.
PSG was far from being unpredictable in the first leg of its Champions League tie against the Bundesliga powerhouse. PSG tallied a mere four shots on target in last week’s matchup, with just one of them coming from Mbappe.
The return leg of this Champions League tie is set for March 8.
