Argentines Reportedly Exciting Over Seeing Messi Possibly Play in Argentinian League

The future of Lionel Messi remains a topic of conversation as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June.

There are plenty of rumors regarding the 35-year-old staying in the French capital. However, there’s also reporting that Messi could be MLS bound and join Inter Miami.

Nonetheless, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner could participate next summer at the Marcelo Bielsa stadium of Newell’s Old Boys, which has become high-profile information.

A meeting between Newell’s Old Boys manager Gabriel Heinze and Messi reportedly occurred on Dec. 20 in the neighborhood where the PSG star lives. Also, the two men do not live far from each other and have been friends since their years on the national team.

According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t RMC Sport), “the meetings in the days following the world triumph were to start making Leo’s dream come true.”

In Argentina, the dream is therefore taking shape little by little. Nevertheless, it still seems very unlikely to see Messi live daily, with his status as a national hero.

The current Paris Saint-Germain player would theoretically come to join in the jubilee of Maxi Rodriguez, a legend for the Rosarino club now retired. The event is scheduled for June 16, after the end of European competitions.

Furthermore, Sergio Aguero recently said that Messi is leaning toward wrapping up his career with his boyhood club. As a result, there will be plenty of twists and turns in this saga.
