‘We Are Angry’ – Donnarumma Shares Frustrations With PSG’s Stunning Defeat vs. Rennes

Gianluigi Donnarumma has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 away defeat to Rennes was an “avoidable loss.”

PSG failed to build on the momentum from its 2-0 win over Angers, as it fell to Rennes by a 1-0 score on Ligue 1 matchday 19. The reigning Ligue 1 champions tallied a mere one shot on target in the contest. On the other hand, a goal from Rennes in the second half was all that it needed to clinch one of the biggest wins of the ongoing Ligue 1 season.

Donnarumma sees (via PSG TV) that PSG must get back on track following its second loss in Ligue 1 play this season.

“We are angry and we have to bounce back immediately for this game, from this defeat because we have no more time to lose,” Donnarumma said after the match. “It was an avoidable loss. They didn’t have many chances but we should have done more. We need to move on from this game.

“We are upset, and now we need to focus on the next game.”

With RC Lens’ 1-0 win over AJ Auxerre on Saturday, PSG will head into Ligue 1 matchday 20 holding a mere three-point lead atop the league standings.

PSG will next return to Ligue 1 action on Jan. 29 with a home matchup against Reims.
