Transfer News: Romano Claims PSG In Mix With Newcastle, Liverpool For Mönchengladbach Midfielder

While many want Paris Saint-Germain to address their issues now that the January transfer window is open following their 3-1 loss to RC Lens on Sunday at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, the capital club is also laying the groundwork for moves next summer.

This past summer, sporting advisor Luis Campos revamped the midfield as he brought in four new players; however, the Portuguese club chief might not be done overhauling that position.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that PSG is one of many clubs eyeing Borussia Mönchengladbach Manu Kone, who has a contract with the German club until 2025.

As for the other clubs eyeing the 21-year-old, Romano noted that Bayern Munich, Newcastle United and Liverpool. Kone plays as a central midfielder but has seen time as a defensive midfielder this 2022-23 season for the Bundesliga side.

Kone has appeared in 15 fixtures this season for Mönchengladbach, where he’s recorded one goal and one assist. Furthermore, the midfielder has also produced 4.12 progressive passes and 2.59 tackles per 90 from his position.
