The future of Lionel Messi continues to be a talking point for various football media outlets. The 35-year-old’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June and there’s plenty of speculation on where Messi will play the 2023-24 season.
Recently it’s appeared to be a two-team race between Inter Milan and French giants as to who would sign Messi for next season. However, Spanish journalist Gerard Romero reported on Monday that the Argentine isn’t set on remaining in Paris.
Nonetheless, the reporting done by Romero was quickly debunked by journalists in England, France and Spain moments later.

Additionally, Mundo Deportivo’s Dani Gil revealed that the whispers about Messi not wanting to continue with PSG is a maneuver by FC Barcelona. The Spanish club has fallen on the wayside regarding the rumors connecting them to Messi for a return.

It seems that the capital club is likely to win the Messi sweepstakes, and if he does leave, the destination will probably be out of Europe and join the South Florida club.
