After orchestrating a dominant performance in the Coupe de France round of 32, Paris Saint-Germain is now set to return to Ligue 1 play on Sunday with a home fixture against Stade de Reims.
PSG was last in Ligue 1 action on Jan. 15 when it came away with a 1-0 away loss to Rennes. On the other hand, Reims has not lost an official match since September.
As noted by Ligue 1’s official website, PSG manager Christophe Galtier could roll out this starting 11 for matchday 20.
Donnarumma; Ramos, Marquinhos, Pereira; Hakimi, Ruiz, Vitinha, Bernat; Messi, Neymar; Mbappe
Renato Sanches earned a surprise start in PSG’s 7-0 win over Pays de Cassel on Monday. The Portuguese international’s previous start for PSG came back in October. It sure would be vital for Sanches if he can make PSG’s starting 11 against Reims, although Galtier could instead decide to call on Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha to form the team’s double-pivot setup in the contest.
PSG did not include Lionel Messi in its squad list for the Coupe de France round of 32. Barring any major surprise, the Argentine forward is expected to be penciled in to start against Reims on Sunday.
PSG will be looking to avenge its 0-0 draw result to Reims in October.
