Report: PSG’s Projected Starting 11 vs. Rennes – Who Will Replace Verratti?

Paris Saint-Germain is set for yet another crucial test in Ligue 1 play this season, as it will meet fourth place side Rennes on Sunday.

PSG was last in action on Wednesday when it clinched a 2-0 league win over Angers. On the other hand, Rennes dropped points on Ligue 1 matchday 18 with a 2-1 away loss to Clermont Foot.

According to TyCSports, PSG manager Christophe Galtier could opt to select this starting 11 for his side’s 19th match of the Ligue 1 season.

Donnarumma; Ramos, Marquinhos, Danilo Pereira; Hakimi, Ruiz, Vitinha, Bernat; Neymar, Messi, Mbappe

PSG is keeping a close watch on Verratti, who has been dealing with a thigh injury as of late. The Italian international suffered the injury during PSG’s collective training session on Tuesday. With the veteran midfielder unavailable against Rennes, Galtier could elect to call on Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha to anchor PSG’s double-pivot setup in the contest.

After being away from the team for multiple days, Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi made their returns to training on Thursday. They each could go on to make Galtier’s starting 11 for Ligue 1 matchday 19.

Overall, PSG has won just two out of its last five meetings against Rennes in league play.
