After spending the past couple of weeks in Argentina, Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi is slated to return to action in the coming week, and he could soon reach quite an impressive personal feat.
As it stands, Messi sits at 695 goals scored in his club career. He finished his run at Barcelona with a notable 672 goals scored in La Liga, and he has so far tallied 23 goals in Ligue 1 play over his ongoing run with the reigning France top flight champions.
Messi has a realistic chance of reaching 700 goals scored in his club career as soon as this month. PSG has four fixtures left in January, including a trio of Ligue 1 contests.
While it is not likely that Messi will receive the green light to play in PSG’s upcoming Coupe de France round of 64 clash with Chateauroux, the Argentine forward sure has what it takes to score a combined five goals in its league matchups against Angers, Rennes, and Reims.
For now, PSG sure is awaiting Messi’s return to collective training following his post-World Cup vacation.
