Premier League: Leicester City Reportedly Joins Race for Three-Time UEFA Champions League Winner

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier decided to roll with Gianluigi Donnarumma as the starting goalkeeper. As a result, it meant Keylor Navas was relegated to the bench and has resulted in few starts this 2022-23 football season.

With the January transfer window open for a few more days, the capital club could be looking to offload the three-time UEFA Champions League winner. The latest club to enter the race is Leicester City.

BBC Radio Solent Sport reported that The Foxes are now eyeing the veteran goalkeeper. Leicester City allowed 36-year-old Kasper Schmeichel to head to OGC Nice and they might regret his replacement.

Danny Ward has started 19 matches for Brendan Rodgers and the 29-year-old has conceded 33 goals against and is averaging 1.74 goals against per 90. Additionally, Ward has a 64 save percentage in Premier League competition.

Meanwhile, Navas, whether it’s La Liga or Ligue 1, has had a save percentage of 72 percent or higher since 2013. As a result, The Foxes could pluck the Costa Rica international in an attempt to remain out of the relegation zone.

Leicester City sits two points away from the relegation zone. Furthermore, they’re not the only Premier League clubs eyeing Navas. A recent report revealed that Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are keen on the shot-stopper.
