Lionel Messi has been back with Paris Saint-Germain since last week. However, the 35-year-old didn’t feature in the capital club’s 3-1 victory in the Coupe de France over LB Châteauroux on Friday.
However, Messi could be returning to the pitch this week as Le Parisien (h/t Hadrien Grenier) reported that the Argentine and Neymar Jr. should be starting in PSG’s Ligue 1 matchup against Angers on Wednesday.

Messi is coming off winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup and his vacation time to celebrate his accomplishment. Nonetheless, the veteran forward now has to turn the page to the second half.
If the PSG star can help the French giants win the UEFA Champions League with the current Ligue 1 champions, it will further solidify his case to win the Ballon d’Or in 2023.
Additionally, Neymar will return with Messi from his suspension after missing the matchup in which PSG fell 3-1 to RC Lens on New Year’s Day.
