The January transfer window closes on Tuesday and Paris Saint-Germain has a few more hours to fix its squad. After the 1-1 draw against Stade de Reims on Sunday at the Parc des Princes, manager Christophe Galtier noted what he would like to add to the squad.
After Pablo Sarabia departed for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Galtier reiterated his desire to see at least one element land in his squad by the end of the winter transfer window.
“I know that the club is working to try to recruit one or even two players, but currently, we will see in 48 hours,” Galtier told Prime Video (h/t Foot Mercato). “Obviously it needs to be reinforced. We had a start, we should add a player on the offensive level, different from what we currently have. We also have constraints concerning financial fair play, it is not easy.”
Currently, there are rumors linking FC Zenit’s Malcom to PSG, but there’s no reported offer from the French giants. However, one move that likely won’t occur is the arrival of Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has indicated that the 19-year-old will stay with Les Gones, despite PSG’s interest. The Lyon forward’s contract expires next year, but it seems the French team won’t be looking to sell.
It will be interesting to see if sporting advisor Luis Campos can provide an addition or two for Galtier’s squad ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
