The future of Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain remains a mystery. Reports suggest that the 35-year-old is in discussions with the capital club for at least another season; nonetheless, nothing official has been announced.
While MLS side Inter Miami isn’t giving up on their hopes of possibly landing the Argentine, PSG manager Christophe Galtier was asked about how contract extension talks are going between the two parties.
“There are discussions the sports management has exchanged with Leo on the subject of an extension,” Galtier said. “I don’t know where it is. Leo seems happy to me in Paris. Afterward, you have to see his position in relation to the club’s project. This is a subject that I do not discuss with him.”
The 2022 FIFA World showed that Messi can still play at a high level, which is why the veteran is likely to remain in the French capital.
