Galtier Sends a Stern Message to PSG Players After the Ligue 1 Loss to Rennes

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier wants his squad to up the intensity after it came away with a 1-0 loss to Rennes on Ligue 1 matchday 19.

For the second time this month, PSG lost a league match, as Rennes defeated the reigning Ligue 1 champions for the second time in its last three tries. PSG recorded just eight total shots in the contest, with three of them coming from Lionel Messi.

For Galtier (via L’Equipe), he has not been pleased with the recent showings from his team.

“I’m not going to talk about concern, but there must be an awareness,” Galtier said during his post-match press conference. “We can obviously find a thousand excuses, a thousand reasons. But the World Cup is over. Even if we were scattered and dispersed for eight weeks, we must find cohesion in this group, rhythm, intensity.

“We will have ten days to work on verticality, intensity, and technical skills. And it’s very important that we find that.”

PSG will return to official action on Jan. 23 with a Coupe de France round of 32 encounter against Pays de Cassel.

  1. He is not the right coach, any coach must make and creat unity and trust among the players. And utilizes maximum potential of players rather than separating them for different reason and look good for news only.
