Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos overhauled the midfield this past summer, bringing in four new players, but the Portuguese club chief might not be done as reports link them to Sofyan Amrabat.
Amrabat was one of the standout players on a Morocco national team that reached the 2022 FIFA World Cup semifinals in Qatar and it comes as no surprise there’s a market for the midfielder with the January transfer window opening on Sunday.
Moroccan media outlet Al Mountakhab reported on Monday that PSG is one of the clubs eyeing the Fiorentina midfielder, who’s in under contract with the Serie A side until 2024. As a result, they could be looking to cash in on the player, with his value being at an all-time high.
Al Mountakhab notes that PSG has made a €25 million offer for the player but doesn’t offer much detail or that the Italian club has rejected the bid, knowing there could be a bidding war for the player.
More details should emerge over the next few days regarding what Fiorentina plans to do with Amrabat and what price they’d be looking for to sell the player. PSG isn’t alone in their pursuit, as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are keen on the player.
