Multiple players have been compared to Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe as of late, including Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka. However, the England international is not much interested in the comparisons to the France national team star.
During a press conference on Monday, Saka was asked about Mbappe’s standout performances in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and whether he could be the “Kylian Mbappe of this World Cup.” The Arsenal forward noted that he simply prefers to just be himself.
“Thank you for the compliment, but no,” Saka said. “I think there’s only one Kylian Mbappe.
“At the same time, there’s only one me. I want to be myself and my help the team in the best way I can.”
Saka will share a pitch with Mbappe for the first time on Saturday, as England and France will square off in the quarterfinal round of the World Cup. The two keen talents head into this match in keen form. For one, Mbappe has logged seven total goal contributions at this year’s World Cup.
Mbappe and France are looking to pull off a run to the World Cup final for the second consecutive edition of the sport’s biggest tournament.
