Neymar’s aspirations of leading Brazil to triumph at the 2022 FIFA World Cup came to an end on Friday, as the Croatia national team sent the CONMEBOL side home via a penalty shootout win. At the least, Neymar managed to make history in the World Cup knockout stage match.
Neymar scored Brazil’s lone goal of the contest, as he finished off a keen shot attempt in the first extra time period to provide the Selecao with a 1-0 lead. With the goal, the Paris Saint-Germain star joined Ronaldo to become the only Brazilian players ever to score at least two goals at three different World Cups.

Neymar scored a goal, created one goal-scoring chance, and won eight ground duels during his time on the pitch against Croatia.
Neymar will now look ahead to the second half of PSG’s season. The reigning Ligue 1 champions will return to official action later in the month with a league home fixture against Strasbourg.
