Report: Argentina’s Projected Starting 11 vs. the Netherlands – Messi to Tag Along With a PSG Legend in the Attack?

Lionel Messi will lead the Argentina national team in its 2022 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinal round matchup against the Netherlands on Friday.

There are still plenty of question marks as to just which players will join Lionel Messi in the attack against the Netherlands. For one, former PSG playmaker Angel Di Maria missed Argentina’s 2-1 round of 16 win over Australia due to a muscle injury. However, he did recently make a return to collective training.

As noted by TyC Sports, Messi may see a new face in the attack for Argentina’s clash with the Netherlands.

Emiliano Martinez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Acuna; Paredes, Fernandez, Mac Allister; Correa, Alvarez, Messi

Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni has not provided any playing time minutes to Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa at the World Cup. If the former San Lorenzo forward earns a start against the Netherlands, it sure would then be crucial for him to form keen chemistry with Messi in the contest.

The winner of this matchup will face either Brazil or Croatia in the World Cup semifinal round.
