Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has claimed that from his viewpoint, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe “played well” in France’s 2022 FIFA World Cup Semifinal win over Morocco.
For the second consecutive match, Mbappe failed to get on the scoresheet, although he was quite active when on the ball against Morocco. The PSG forward tallied six successful dribbles and also created two goal-scoring chances for teammates in the contest.
For Tchouameni, he sees that even when Mbappe is not at his very best on the pitch, the PSG star still can make quite a difference for Les Bleus.
“I think he played well,” Tchouameni said during his post-match press conference. “After that, of course, in relation to the games he plays … When he goes from a stratospheric match to a very good match, there is a difference.
“But it’s still a very high level. He helps us a lot on the field, and we know that he is a threat for the opponent.”
Mbappe still sits at seven goal contributions recorded at the 2022 World Cup, with three of them coming in the round of 16 win over Poland.
Mbappe is now set to lead France in its upcoming World Cup final encounter against PSG forward Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team.
