Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has lauded Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi as one of the “legends” of world football.
Messi and Lloris are set to once again face off, as the Argentina national team will square off with France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final. Messi has his sights set on winning the World Cup for the first time in his career, while Lloris is aiming to make room in his trophy cabinet for another World Cup winners’ medal.
Lloris is well aware that France will need to orchestrate an all-around performance against a “competitive” Argentina team that is led by the PSG star.
“We need a good recover to prepare for the last battle,” Lloris told FOX Sports after France’s World Cup semifinal win over Morocco.
“We will need all of our strength, all our energy to face an amazing team. Very competitive, and he’s one of the legends of the sport, Leo Messi.”
The World Cup final is set for Dec. 18.
