Messi Became the First Player in World Cup History to Reach This Unreal Feat After the Penalty Goal vs. France

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi once again made notable history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Messi provided Argentina with an early 1-0 lead over France in the 2022 World Cup Final after he slotted home a penalty goal in the first half. The goal for Messi was the sixth of his 2022 World Cup campaign.

More so, Messi managed to score in each knockout stage round of the 2022 World Cup, from the round of 16 up to the final of the sport’s biggest tournament. He became the first player ever to score in the round of 16, quarterfinal, semifinal, and final at a single FIFA World Cup, which is quite impressive considering that players such as Ronaldo Nazario did not accomplish this achievement.

No team has had much of an answer for Messi at the 2022 World Cup. The Argentine forward has not only been a keen threat as a goal-scorer at the tournament, but he also continues to shine as an on-ball playmaker.

The PSG forward is one step closer to winning the World Cup for the first time in his storied career.
