Paris Saint-Germain full-back Nuno Mendes was expected to be a standout player at the 2022 FIFA World Cup for the Portugal national team, but a thigh injury cut short his tournament. Mendes was an early exit in Portugal’s group stage match against Uruguay due to a thigh injury, and he was later ruled out for the rest of the World Cup because of his ailment.
It was widely noted that Mendes is set to be out of action until January, but he could end up missing more time due to his notable injury. According to L’Equipe, the Portuguese full-back will be sidelined “until late January or early February.”
Mendes is slated to soon return to the club to continue his injury rehab with PSG’s medical staff. Danilo Pereira will also accompany him back to the club after he was ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup due to a ribs injury.
All eyes now turn to whether either of these two players will be fit come PSG’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich. The first leg of the tie will come on Feb. 14.
