‘He Has Enormous Potential’ – Galtier Shares Strong Words on This Promising PSG Prospect

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has claimed that El Chadaille Bitshiabu is a defender with “enormous potential.”

Bitshiabu made the first start of his Ligue 1 career during PSG’s 2-1 home win over Strasbourg. With both Nuno Mendes and Juan Bernat unavailable for the contest, Galtier called on Bitshiabu to start out at the left-back position, and the French talent made the most out of his time on the pitch. The 17-year-old defender completed 63 passes and also recorded five successful tackles during the match.

Due to Bitshiabu’s grand potential at PSG, the club is not planning on bringing in a defensive reinforcement over the upcoming winter transfer window.

“No, it is no longer news, we have a young player with El Chadaille Bitshiabu,” Galtier said during a press conference on Friday. “He played his first game against Strasbourg as a left-back even if in the second half he was more of a third defender than anything else. He has enormous potential. We have high hopes for him.

“To go for a defender at this time would be to block the space.”

It will be noteworthy to see whether Bitshiabu ends up making PSG’s starting 11 for its upcoming Ligue 1 away fixture against RC Lens.
