Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni will provide a helping hand to the France national team’s defending of Lionel Messi in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final.
If Les Bleus want to win back-to-back tournaments, they will need to do their best to contain the 35-year-old and limit his impact on the game, which is where Tchouameni comes into the picture.
The France international spoke with Ole, discussing what he expects to defend Messi on Sunday.
“He is not a very easy player to mark and it will have to be done with the contribution of the whole team,” Tchouameni said. “We are going to make a plan but I repeat that you do not only have to worry about it.”
Tchouameni understands that France cannot have their entire focus on the veteran forward and the Real Madrid star pointed out other names that the team will key on as they hope to contain the Argentina attack.
“Enzo Fernandez, Alvarez and Otamendi,” Tchouameni said. “Argentina is not only Messi. He has a lot of quality players and that’s why he reached the final. And it will be a tough party.”
The 22-year-old will be confident in the squad with Kylian Mbappe, considering the midfielder stated that the PSG star is the best player on the planet and they will need him to make an impact to win the World Cup.
