Why Former Brazilian Player Picks Neymar to Be Star of 2022 World Cup

The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off in a few days, and various players will be hoping to lead their national team to glory at this tournament, one of them being Neymar Jr.

Neymar is heading into the competition playing the best football of his career. The Paris Saint-Germain star has 15 goals and 12 assists in 19 appearances for the French giants this 2022-23 season.

Brazil has a 20-year-old World Cup drought and former player Kaka believes that Neymar can be the star of the tournament, leading to the South American nation ending their two-decade run without winning the trophy.

“I would love it if it were Neymar for his talent, for what he is as a person, for the champion he has become,” Kaka told FIFA media (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “At certain times in the past, I think he was already the best.”

At 30, Neymar is gearing toward the back end of his prime years and with plenty of criticism from the football media in the past, the PSG star can silence all critics and haters.

Brazil is one of the favorites and if they win the tournament, it will be with Neymar leading the way.
