Despite Paris Saint-Germain accumulating 14 points in the UEFA Champions League group stage, it wasn’t enough to win Group H. Benfica also had 14 points and won the tiebreaker on away goals scored in all group matches.
Now the French giants will go up against one of the various teams that finished first in their group, including Real Madrid, who knocked out the capital club last season in the Round of 16.
On ESPN FC, journalist Gab Marcotti revealed his dream draw for the Champions League Round of 16, and he has PSG going up against a challenging opponent in Bayern Munich.
PSG faced Bayern Munich in the 2020 Champions League final, which the Bundesliga side won, and in the 2021 quarterfinals that saw the Ligue 1 club come out on top.
A potential third meeting in four years would present the tiebreak and put an opponent that is second in their league currently behind Union Berlin but stomped the teams in their group.
