Last year, many were upset to see Lionel Messi win the Ballon d’Or over Robert Lewandowski. As a result, there was speculation regarding a possible rift between the two players.
However, ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where Poland and Argentina are in the same group Lewandowski was perplexed when questioned whether he would say hello to Messi when the two nations face off on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
“Why not? Why wouldn’t I greet him? Messi and I are all right,” the Barcelona star told the reporter. “I don’t have anything against him, never have. Why are you asking a question like that?”
Both countries are in Group C with Mexico and Saudi Arabia and could be seen as the two favorites to advance into the knockout stages as the tournament rolls on Sunday.
