The Argentina national team will have its 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage finale coming up on Wednesday, as it will square off against Poland.
For Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi and the reigning Copa America champions, a win over Poland will officially secure them a spot in the World Cup knockout stage.
As noted by TyC Sports, Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni may opt to not make any notable changes to the team’s attack.
Emiliano Martinez; Montiel, Otamendi, Pezzella, Acuna; De Paul, Fernandez, Mac Allister; Di Maria, Lautaro Martinez, Messi
In Argentina’s 2-0 win over Mexico, Scaloni rolled with a 4-4-2 setup that had Messi and Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez slotted upfront as the main center forwards in the formation. Juventus winger Angel Di Maria and Brighton & Hove Albion talent Alexis Mac Allister were called on to fill the wide midfield spots.
For Argentina’s upcoming group stage clash against Poland, Scaloni could very well keep this same attacking setup.
Overall, Messi has recorded 15 total goal contributions in his last eight appearances in all competitions for club and country.
