PSG manager Galtier reveals his message to Neymar ahead of the 2022 World Cup

During the late stages of Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-0 Ligue 1 home win over AJ Auxerre, manager Christophe Galtier decided to sub off both Lionel Messi and Neymar. The Brazilian forward was later seen asking Galtier if he could head into the locker room early, and the first-year PSG manager gave him the green light to do so.

Right before Neymar went into the locker room, Galtier stopped him to share a few words with him.

After PSG’s convincing victory against AJ Auxerre, Galtier revealed to Prime Video Sport France just what he told Neymar ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“I knew he had to leave very quickly, I did not know if we would see him in the locker room and I just wished him a great World Cup as I wished all my players,” Galtier said. “I hope that this World Cup can be in our locker room or our training camp, that one of our internationals can bring us this beautiful trophy.”

The Brazil national team does not have any friendly fixtures scheduled from now until the World Cup, as manager Tite instead has multiple training sessions planned for the squad over the coming days. Neymar and Brazil will open up their World Cup group stage schedule with a crucial matchup against Serbia.
