In an interview with The Telegraph, Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr. spoke about which players he sees having a successful tournament.
The 30-year-old stated that he sees Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane putting together a good World Cup performance for England. Sancho didn’t make the squad as the Manchester United forward has struggled at Old Trafford.
“I really like [Harry] Kane and [Jadon] Sancho,” Neymar said. “They’re two incredible players and I have a special love for them because I like players that have their qualities.”
England has massive expectations after reaching the UEFA Euro 2020 final but losing to Italy in the final on penalty kicks. Nonetheless, many expect the Three Lions to be a contender for the trophy.
Gareth Southgate and his squad are in Group B, where they are the favorites to finish first against Iran, the United States, and Wales. All opponents that England is better on paper, so that will allow Kane to show his talents.
