Paris Saint-Germain will be without Lionel Messi as the capital club faces FC Lorient on Sunday at the Stade du Moustoir. The 35-year-old is dealing with “inflammation in his Achilles tendon,” per manager Christophe Galtier.
Despite missing the game against Lorient, the injury won’t keep Messi out for too long, as Galtier expects the veteran forward to be ready for the final matchup versus Auxerre, with leagues across the world taking a break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Galtier also revealed that he’s counting on Hugo Ekitike or Pablo Sarabia to replace Messi in the starting 11.
