Neymar Jr. is seeing a great 2022-23 football season and the Paris Saint-Germain forward is heading into the 2022 FIFA World Cup later this month.
The Brazil international has scored 15 goals and recorded 12 assists in 19 appearances, so Neymar is putting together a season that could see him content for the Ballon d’Or next year.
After Tite announced the players that will represent Brazil at the tournament in Qatar, FC Barcelona star Raphinha spoke with the program Què t’hi (h/t Paris Fans) about the 30-year-old.
“The best player in the world? Neymar,” Raphinha said. “I always go with the Brazilians, but not only for that: I think he is the best for what he does on the pitch, although many people keep talking badly about him, but he is a great footballer and a great person.”
Neymar is in the prime of his career and hopes to be leading the team that allows the South American nation to end its 20-year World Cup drought. Brazil is one of the favorites that can win the competition.
If the PSG star comes away with winning the tournament and proceeds to play at his current level, then Neymar is the best player in the World.
