This week, Paris Saint-Germain has been engulfed in various rumors, including one that reveals Kylian Mbappé’s desire to leave the French capital even after signing a contract extension this summer.
Ahead of Le Classique against Olympique de Marseille, manager Christophe Galtier addressed the rumors and provided a hostile response regarding the 23-year-old’s future in Paris.
“There’s a rumor that came out the afternoon of a match; Kylian got the best response,” Galtier told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “He was voted best player of the match; he is efficient, united. But instead of talking about it, you talk about something else. You have the right.
“I answer you in all honesty if I tell you it is the truth. But in the press, you go the opposite. If I spoke to Kylian about the rumor, no. I saw Kylian very serious in his preparation, very invested in his match. I am proud to be the coach of PSG. Write it down, and let’s talk football.”
Mbappé has two years plus an option remaining on his new deal, and if the PSG star feels that management hasn’t kept their end of the bargain, then it’s a situation that will need to resolve itself next summer.
