Stat Highlights How Dominant PSG Star Has Been for Club, Country

The 2021-22 football season was one to forget for Lionel Messi, leading some to question whether the 35-year-old’s best days are behind him.

However, this 2022-23 campaign, the Argentine is reminding those critics that he can still perform at a high level, and it doesn’t matter if it’s with Paris Saint-Germain or the Argentina national team.

OptaJavier pointed out a stat on Twitter that shows how dominant Messi has been this season for club and country, as the veteran forward was directly involved in goals for his teams in nine of the last 12 games he played, with eight assists and nine goals scored.

Messi has two goals this 2022-23 season: to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina in what likely be the final tournament of his career and help deliver the first UEFA Champions League to PSG in their club’s history.

If Messi can deliver both these trophies this season, there may be another Ballon d’Or in his future.
