Mere months after signing off on a multiyear contract extension deal with Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe is now pushing to leave the club over the upcoming January transfer window, as noted by ESPN’s Julien Laurens.
Mbappe reportedly “feels at odds with the club’s direction” both on and off the pitch. More so, he believes that promises made by PSG club officials “have not been kept.”
Among them, Mbappe was looking forward to playing alongside a No. 9 in PSG’s attack, which is how he plays with the France national team. While PSG was linked with the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Gianluca Scamacca over the recent summer transfer window, football advisor Luis Campos ultimately did not bring in such a talent to the club.
From PSG’s standpoint, the club has no plans to sell Mbappe and is seeking to resolve this matter following the team’s UEFA Champions League home group stage fixture against Benfica.
It remains to be seen just how this dilemma between PSG club officials and the French forward will ultimately be resolved.
