PSG Midfielder Expresses Gratitude Toward Real Madrid Manager

Despite Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid having tension over the recent Super League discussion, midfielder Fabián Ruiz had kind words for manager Carlo Ancelotti.

This summer transfer window Ruiz left Napoli after four seasons to join the capital club. The midfielder was part of the revamp PSG did as sporting advisor Luis Campos brought in four new players, including Ruiz.

However, the 26-year-old wanted to thank Ancelotti for convincing him to make the leap to Serie A to join him in Naples. On Saturday, the Spain international spoke to Prime Video Sport France (h/t AS), expressing respect for the Real Madrid manager.

“I put a post when he was fired because he bet on me, who was 22 years old and came from Betis,” Ruiz said.

“He gave me confidence in a club as big as Napoli and made me play in the Champions League, which was a dream for me, so I am grateful for the confidence he gave me.”

Ruiz is thankful for all the people who have had a hand in his career to progress his development and allow him to experience a new league.

Now the midfielder is experiencing a new country and league again after making the jump to join PSG. The French giants are hopeful that Ruiz’s stint with them will be as successful as his tenure with Napoli was on a personal level.
