Lionel Messi is making the most out of his second season with Paris Saint-Germain.
As was the case last season, Messi has continued to blossom as a keen playmaker for PSG so far in the ongoing campaign. The Argentine forward is just coming off of a quality performance in PSG’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Troyes where he not only scored a goal but also chipped in with an assist and created two goal-scoring chances for teammates.
Overall, Messi sits at 25 total assists for both PSG and the Argentina national team in all competitions over the calendar year. With five more assists, he will reach 30 assists in a calendar year for the first time since 2016.

Messi has had multiple standout playmaking performances so far this year, including his two-assist showing against the Italian national team in the 2022 Finalissima.
For now, Messi is slated to feature in PSG’s upcoming UEFA Champions League away group stage fixture against Juventus.
