Paris Saint-Germain had the scoring floodgates open on Tuesday in their UEFA Champions League matchup against Maccabi Haifa. The capital club racked up a 7-2 win over the Israeli side at the Parc des Princes.
The French giants had Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi scored a brace; meanwhile, Neymar chipped in with a goal of his own in the lopsided victory.
Following the win, midfielder Vitinha spoke with reporters, and the 22-year-old was asked to sum up the performance of the trio and the Portugal international is simply in awe of what the three can do each game.
“They continue to amaze me,” Vitinha told reporters (h/t Baptiste Durieux). “Even though I know what they are capable of, everyone is excited and amazed at what they are doing. We need them. And we are going to make sure that they can continue to play at this level.”
PSG has an opportunity to secure the top spot in Group H if they can come away with all three points and a favorable goal differential or result should Benfica lose to Maccabi Haifa next Wednesday.
Additionally, if the Parisians can close out heading into the FIFA World Cup break in good form and with their three stars, it may bode well for the second half of the season as they push to win the Champions League this campaign.
