Ex-PSG Defender Public Enemy No. 1 at Atletico Madrid for Mocking Carrasco After Missed PK

Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Mitchel Bakker became public enemy No. 1, per Marca, for Atletico Madrid supporters due to the Netherlands international celebrating in front of Yannick Carrasco, who missed the game-winning penalty kick.

While many were having fun with FC Barcelona crashing out in the UEFA Champions League group stage, Atletico Madrid’s failures flew under the radar.

However, that was until the end of their match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Wednesday at the Metropolitano Stadium when Carrasco missed the initial penalty kick, but the team failed to convert the two rebound chances.

Once the ball went out of play, Bakker went right into Carrasco’s face and began celebrating, not even considering the emotional distress that the Atletico Madrid forward was in after what had occurred.

Carrasco knew that the missed scoring chances resulted in the club’s fate being sealed their fate that they’ll be fighting for third place finish, dropping into the UEFA Europa League competition.

For Bakker to react the way he did, something must have been occurring throughout the game; sooner rather than later, the defender will reveal what happened in those 90 minutes to react as he did towards Carrasco.
