Ronaldinho is now the latest former player to provide a take on whether Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi is the greatest football player of all-time.
Unlike many other former players, Ronaldinho, as he told Eleven Sports, shied away from taking a firm stance on this debate.
“It is difficult to say, there are so many other players,” Ronaldinho said. “I don’t like to compare. You had Maradona, Pele, there were so many. Every one of them was the best in their own time.”

Messi does have a strong case to be called the greatest to ever play the sport. From the seven Ballon d’Or wins to the 2021 Copa America triumph with the Argentina national team, he has already left behind quite a stout legacy in football.
