Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos last played for the Spanish national team in March 2021 against Kosovo.
A year and a half later, Marca reports that the PSG center-back reappears in the pre-list made by manager Luis Enrique for the call-ups against Switzerland and Portugal, decisive for Spain’s qualification for the final phase of the League of Nations.
Ramos has played the two games that PSG has played in the Champions League and all of the Ligue 1 fixtures. As a result, the veteran defender is in form, which can’t be said about other Spanish defenders.
Íñigo Martínez has played one game so far this season, Pau Torres and Diego Llorente have played full minutes in LaLiga and Premier League. At the same time, Eric García appears and disappears in the Barcelona starting eleven.
After dealing with injuries for the past two years, it seems as though Ramos is back to being healthy and could be a name that Spain might take to Qatar in November.
