Paris Saint-Germain has yet to taste defeat this season, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t always room for improvement.
On this episode of PSG Talking, I’m joined by Marc Damon to dissect PSG’s summer transfer window and preview the upcoming UEFA Champions League group stage, which kicks off next week against Juventus FC.
We begin with the transfer window where PSG signed several players to strengthen the midfield especially, but also the overall depth of the squad. We also discuss the players who left the club and debate why Leonardo, PSG’s former sporting director, was unable—or unwilling—to offload players like Julian Draxler and Layvin Kurzawa.
One player who didn’t leave, but was expected to, was Keylor Navas. Was this a case of no offers coming in for the Costa Rican, or, is this a sign that Christophe Galtier, PSG’s manager, may not trust Gianluigi Donnarumma fully?
After grading Luis Campos and Antero Henrique on their first transfer window for PSG, we turn our attention to the Champions League. The reigning French champions were drawn into a relatively easy group, but we discuss the challenges that Juventus and Benfica may present for Galtier who is relatively untested in the competition.
We conclude the show with some talk about Ligue 1 broadcasting rights in the United States and the current form of Neymar Jr.
