PSG Reportedly Paying Mauro Icardi to Leave for Galatasaray

Mauro Icardi exiting Paris Saint-Germain is the definition of paying a player to go away. The 29-year-old completed his move to Galatasaray on Thursday, and the financial details have surfaced.

After failing to replace Edison Cavani, the Argentine goal scorer became an undesirable player that the French giants wanted to offload as they began this new era under sporting advisor Luis Campos.

Foot Mercato relayed information regarding the information as to what type of loan deal. PSG will be responsible for most of Icardi’s salary as they’ll pay €6.75 million; meanwhile, the Turkish giants will only have to pay €750,000.

Icardi goes on loan without an option to buy, but PSG is hopeful that the Argentine can find his scoring boots in Istanbul to allow them to offload the striker next summer; either Galatasaray or another European could be interested in a permanent deal.

The Argentine leaves the French giants after appearing in 92 fixtures while scoring 38 goals.
