During the now recent summer transfer window, there was plenty of uncertainty regarding Neymar’s future at Paris Saint-Germain. Rumors swirled regarding the possibility of PSG offloading the Brazilian forward, but in the end, he stayed put at the club past transfer deadline day.
Now, PSG football advisor Luis Campos has revealed (via RMC Sport) that there was no substance to the rumors that noted about a possible exit for Neymar from the club.
“No, he was not on the way out,” Campos said during an appearance on RMC Sport‘s Rothen s’enflamme program.
“I heard things that Kylian wanted to make Neymar leave. We rely on the front three. Last year, Kylian was the best player in the world, with a Messi who had to adapt and an injured Neymar. He held the team to be champion of France. Neymar is a very good player and there is no doubt about that. … He arrives all the time on time, he is involved in the game project of the team and the club.”
Neymar has since made the most out of his stout start to the season, as he currently sits at an astounding 18 total goal contributions in all competitions.
For now, Neymar is slated to feature in PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 away fixture against Olympique Lyonnais.
